It had been one of those days...
Rubbing her forehead Caroline left her classroom and entered into the mall. It was packed with people. Well... This was Las Vegas. She was carrying a weaved basket on her shoulder that was too big and was slipping off and a pile of martial arts books in the other. She was in such a rush to get home she bumped into a blonde woman and her child. [que Niki ^^]
Stumbling forward she dropped her booked to the floor. She got down to the level of a tabby cat and began to pick them up.
"Sorry... I should have been looking where I was going."

Niki felt someone bump into her and she turned around to see who it was. As the woman who bumped into her said sorry, Niki waved her apology away. "It's okay. Need any help?" Niki asked, lowering herself to the ground and grabbing some of the books the other woman dropped. "Accidents happen." Niki had done the same thing before and wasn't going to be nasty at the woman. It was just an accident and no one got hurt did they?
"Micah, stay close." Niki told her son. She wasn't about to lose him in the crowd of people. As he stayed close to her, Niki was a little relieved. She would hate to have him go missing. It was a mothers worst nightmare.

"It's okay. Need any help?"
Caroline smiled as she brushed her hair behind her ear. It was getting in the way. It was nice of her to be so nice to Car. Not like anyone in Las Vegas. it was a shame really.
"No, thanks anyway," saying that she leaned over to collect the last book and her oversized bag opened and her things fell out. Not too major but her mirror[hint] flew across the floor away from arms reach. "Could you just get that?"
"Accidents happen."
"They sure do. But why to us, eh?"

Niki smiled warmly at the other woman before her eyes saw the mirror that escaped from her bag. As the woman asked her to get it, Niki reached over, picking up the mirror with one hand. As she looked into the mirror, Niki saw a difference in her reflection. Instead of a smile and warm eyes, the reflection had cold eyes, and a cold, dark smile. Blinking, Niki nearly dropped the mirror, her reflection speaking to her. "Come on Niki. You don't need to help her. It's us you should worry about." "You're wrong." Niki said to her reflection, her body tensing up. She almost forgot about the woman who bumped into her, her eyes on the mirror. Her reflection turned her head slightly. "Am I?" Niki was left wondering.

Caroline watched on. The woman seemed to be staring into the mirror. It was not too shabby. Maybe she was a dealer or something. As she saw it nearly drop from her grip she put her hand out and shouted.
"No!" as she spoke the falling mirror somehow fell sideways into her hand. Hoping the woman hadn't seen her ability she picked up her bag and ran. "Sorry, I've got to go."
She had left the books on the floor in a pile.

As the reflection disappeared, Niki tore her eyes away from the mirror, glancing at her son before her eyes found the other woman. As the woman said she had to go, Niki noticed that she left her books behind. "Micah, stay with me." She said simply, grabbing the books and taking off after the woman. "Wait! You forgot your books." Niki called out, wondering if the words Niki said had accidentally offended the woman. If that was the case, Niki was truly sorry. She didn't mean for anyone else to hear them, only for her reflection. Oh god, I am going crazy, Niki thought, wondering where the woman had gone.

"Wait! You crook!"
Miss hearing her words Caroline ran faster and faster. Bumping into more and more people as she went. Faster and faster, bumpier and bumpier until she finaly tripped over an old man's cane. She flew threw the air and landed on the floor in front of the entrance to the Mall.
She grabbed her knee. "ouch.."

Niki watched in horror as the woman tripped and fell to the ground. This gave her the moment she needed to catch up to her, looking down at the woman and holding out her books. "You forgot your books." Niki said, wondering why she kept running. Niki extended her hand for the woman so she could help her get up. With one quick glance, Niki looked around and saw that Micah was behind her like she told him. With a smile, Niki looked at her son before looking back at the woman. "I'm Niki. This is my son Micah. And I think we got off on the wrong foot."

"You forgot your books."
Caroline rolled over onto her side to reveal she was uunharmed. She looked up and the blonde. She seemed to onlt want to give her her books back. Taking her hand she got up slowly and took the books.
"I'm Niki. This is my son Micah. And I think we got off on the wrong foot."
"Caroline," she shook her hand. "I run a martial arts class just down the..." she stoped noticing something on the woman's shoulder. It wasn't there before. It was a tatoo. She reconized it. Putting the book on top of the pile to the back she saw a book in her arms bu Dr. Suresh with the 'helix' on the cover.
"That's a helix, isn't it?"

"Caroline? Thats a nice name" Niki replied, watching the woman carefully. When Caroline stopped during the middle of her sentence, Niki wondered what she was thinking about. It wasn't until she spoke that Niki knew what she had seen. Her eyes scanned her shoulder, fingers tracing the outline of the helix, to most it was just a simple tattoo. But no one knew it's real meaning when it came to being on Niki. "Yes, it's a helix." Niki said warily, wondering why Caroline would be asking. It's because she didn't see it before. Thats why. Must be more careful, don't want people to poke their noses in where they don't belong. Niki thought. Well, to be more accurate, Jessica.

"Caroline? Thats a nice name"
Caroline giggled. "Thanks..." her voice soft and her blushing cheeks. "Niki... I love it!" she laughed then looked back at the book by Dr. Suresh.
"Yes, it's a helix."
"I thought so... Coffee?" she jestured to the cosy coffee shop to their right. Caroline could really need it. Her day had been hectic and she could need the boost. She then reached out her hand to ruffle her son's hair.
"I'm sure they make some juice too."
[ooc: BTW: the helix only appears when she's Jessica but d/w it's ok.]

((I know ^^))
"How about it?" She asked Micah who seemed pretty eager. "Alright then." Jessica smiled warmly. It was easy for her to act as Niki but she could slip up. The helix on her shoulder was proof. If she wasn't careful enough, everyone who knew Niki would think something was wrong. Well of course it was but no one was supposed to know. As she looked at Caroline, Jessica softened her eyes, making it look as though she was becoming a friend.
